AMFHR Ramadhan Projects

Assalamalaikum, American Muslims for Hunger Relief (AMFHR) wishes you and your family a happy and blessed Ramadan. Like last year AMFHR has the following projects.

	A man asked the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w.), O Messenger of Allah((s.a.w. which charity is best in reward? He(s.a.w.) replied ‘The charity of Ramadan.’ Good Deeds during the Month of Ramadan are multiplied 70 times. And the AMFHR team is offering the perfect opportunity.
Ramadan Iftaar Program Donate generously to help the Deserving	AMFHR will be hosting several Ramadan Iftaars soup kictchen at following locations: On July 20th we will be holding an Iftaar Soup Kitchen in 10 Mosques at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On July 27th we will be holding an Iftaar Soup Kitchen, at the Islamic Center of East Orange. We will be feeding 150 people in need Insha’Allah. On the same day, July 27th, we will be holding an Iftaar Soup Kitchen at the Islamic Center of Jersey City. During these events the volunteers will not only be able to help serve local needy families, but also break their fasts with them. You can participate in this cause at the cost of $10 per person. Your contribution will help a Muslim brother or sister who needs to break their fast during the Month of Ramadan.
Ramadan Ration Support Donate generously to help the Deserving	‘And they give food out of His love to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.’ (Al Qur’an) AMFHR arranges for the distribution of ration to assist our deserving brothers and sisters in the blessed month of Ramadan. This will be a source of benefiting many deserving families, Insha’Allah. The cost of each food basket is $50 and includes basic items such as dates, Basmati rice, oil, pasta, tea, etc. All families were referred to AMFHR by their Mosques at the following locations: In NJ: Irvington, Jersey City, Plainfield, Camden, Old Bridge, Piscataway, and Teaneck. In New York we shall be distributing at Long Island. In Pennsylvania we shall be distributing in Philadelphia at two different locations. All transactions will occur anonymously. The goal of the donations is for AMFHR to cover the costs of providing these needy Muslim families with ample Sahoor and Iftaar provisions for the month of Ramadan.
	AMFHR will be distributing water cases to Masjids in Newark NJ during the months of July-August. The cost of case of water is $5.00 each.

Note:
The ration will be distributed among the ones deserving in the beginning of Ramadan, so make sure you put your share in time.

The sick, old or those who are unable to fast due to any reason can give their expiation to this cause or Zakat money may also be given.

You can help us fulfill our Islamic obligations, as well as your own, by donating money or by volunteering your services to help feed your community’s hungry and homeless. In this time of growing ecomonic hardship, there is an even greater and more pressing need to help families who are having a difficult time gettting back on their feet.

It is narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullah b. ‘Amr that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) which of the merits (is superior) in Islam. He (PBUH) remarked: That you provide food and extend greetings to one whom you know or do not know.(Muslim)

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age, and must register AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please volunteer your time to this great cause.
