American Muslims for Hunger Relief

The AMFHR (American Muslims for Hunger Relief) is grassroots organization to serve the hungry and homeless with compassion, dignity, and respect without any discrimination of color, race, gender or religion.

On the day of Thanksgiving November 22nd the organization went to Newark and the surrounding area to provide food .

The event led by the chair Ghani Khan and guided by local muslim leaders went to multiple shelters to distribute food in front of them. The food was distributed to people of the shelters and many others who passed by and were in need of food (rice and chicken platter, water, bananas, granola and chocolate bars). The organization is dedicating its efforts to providing food for needy and will continue to strive.

A special thanks to the ICOB Academy for sponsoring the food for this event. Also a huge thanks to our dedicated volunteers who made all this possible by working relentlessly

Ramdhan Month of Action and Charity

Assalamalaikum Ramadan Mubarak!

American Muslims for Hunger Relief (AMFHR) wishes you and your family a happy and blessed Ramadan.
AMFHR will be providing food to needy and less privileged members of our community with the cooperation of several Islamic Centers.
As Br. Ghani Khan, Chairman of AMFHR, has said, the holy month of Ramadan bring to our attention food and hunger, offering us an opportunity to accelerate our efforts to feed less fortunate.

Ramadhan Kareem The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, no. 1887)

Good Deeds during the Month of Ramadan are multiplied 70 times. And the AMFHR team is offering the perfect opportunity.
