Eid ul-Adha Meat Collection
Eid ul-Adha requires the sacrifice of an animal of which 1/3 is eaten by immediate family and relatives, 1/3 given to friends, and 1/3 is donated to the poor. This act symbolizes our willingness to give up some of our own bounties, in order to strengthen ties of friendship and help those who are in need. In the spirit of such a blessed day, AMFHR is hosting it’s Qurbani Collection program.
Since the start of this program AMFHR has collected over 3000 pounds and has distributed your donations to needy families across the NY and NJ area. This year, as part of our Feed the Hungry Spread the Peace campaign, AMFHR will be collecting Qurbani Meat at the following locations:
AMFHR request you to pack the meat before delivering it to the locations listed before noon on Friday, October 18, 2013.

Good Deeds multiplies in this holy month and the AMFHR team is offering the perfect opportunity
You can help us fulfill our Islamic obligations, as well as your own, by donating money or by volunteering your services to help feed your community’s hungry and homeless. In this time of growing ecomonic hardship, there is an even greater and more pressing need to help families who are having a difficult time gettting back on their feet.
It is narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullah b. ‘Amr that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) which of the merits (is superior) in Islam. He (PBUH) remarked: That you provide food and extend greetings to one whom you know or do not know.(Muslim)

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age, and must register AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please volunteer your time to this great cause.
